Jim Beam Nature Preserve, Jessamine County

The Beam Nature Preserve is a 115 acres of wooded land overseen by the Nature Conservancy of Kentucky. The trail is an easy 0.8 mile looped hike. Located just south of Nicholasville, it is an easy drive out. To reach the Preserve, drive south on US 27. Coming from Lexington you will drive about 15 miles or so .  When you see the  Camp Nelson Heritage Park  on your left, you're almost there.  On your right you'll see  whiskey aging buildings on top of the hill. Turn right here onto Hall Road. Stay on Hall Road until you reach the four way stop. Keep straight until you reach the next crossroad, Payne Lane. Turn right and follow this straight to the Preserve. The road in looks like a driveway. Right before you reach this road in, Church Street curves to the right.  The trail has several interesting sights.
